Mountain biking is becoming increasingly popular. However, the sport, as opposed to other stakeholders, is a potential conflict. For this reason, it is important to develop attractive offers and involve all stakeholders.
The regional nature park Schaffhausen wants to develop the region on a sustainable basis and is focusing on offers in the slow-moving sector. The aim of the work was to evaluate the potential of a bike route in the natural park and to suggest a route based on the findings. A case study should also show the approach in another region.
In order to answer the question and to indicate a possible route, on the one hand, literature was evaluated, on the other hand, expert surveys and an actual analysis were carried out.
The results show that the characteristic abduction of the Tafeljura is well suited for practicing the sport. The existing infrastructure provides mainly forestry and agricultural paths and single-track sections. There are currently critical points of contact in several municipalities. While Merishausen has found a very good solution, seems in Hemishofen the problem is not solved.
The proposed route, which has resulted from the findings, is tailored to the needs of the cate-gory touring bikers. From the point of view of the author, the route fits the needs of the Regional Nature Park Schaffhausen and integrates the concerns of all actors.
